The weather in Batanes is Hot but has a rainy reason, from the months of November to February the weather is cool and windy. March to May is usually hot and dry season and considered to be the summer months in Batanes.  Most of month of the year is experiencing rains. The best time to visit the island is from the month of March to June. There are numbers of activities and adventures that wait the tourist in the island of Batanes. Local and Foreign tourist can enjoy swimming in beautiful beaches, sailing and fishing, island hopping, visiting historic churches and lighthouse.


One of the reasons why you must visit Batanes is the notable facts that it claim  a zero crime rate. Violent crime is unheard on the island and even pretty theft is a rare occurrence. Visitors who misplace or lost any personal belongings are advise to visit a local radio station in Batanes so it can be aired. The beautiful Island of Batanes offers an experience that is worth reminiscing. The people are friendly, the place is very tranquil and the scene tic view of the surrounding will make you appreciate the joy of stress free living, which is now very rare in the western world.



Batanes Island is one of the 7000 plus paradise islands in the Philippines with its pristine and untouched beauty. Its is located in the northern part of the Philippines.Batanes island is approximately 163Km north of Luzon and about 190 Km South of Taiwan. It comprises of 10 major islands and islets including, Batan, Sabtang, Dinem, Dequey, Itbayat, Mavudis, Siayyan, Ivuhos, North Island and Y’ami. The capital is Basco on Batan Island and the only other inhabited islands are Sabtang and Itbayat.

The People of Batanes Island are called Ivatan and share cultural and linguistic commonalities with the Babuyan Islands. Ivatans are known to be honest, gentle and polite but brave and robust.  The main spoken languages in Batanes is Ivatan, most people of Batan and Sabtang share the same languages. The Itbayaten is widely spoken on the islands of Itbayat. Most of the people can also speak Isamurongen, Ilocano, Tagalog and English.

Southern Asian Airline (SEAIR) has morning flights daily to Batanes from Manila and vice versa. The flight land straight to Basco Airport on Batan Island. Zest Airways also flies to Batanes daily. Tourist will also consider taking a bus to Laoag or Tuguegarao and then take a 10-seater aircraft to Basco.
