Aside from rich natural resources, Palawan is also famous for rich history and archaeology buffs. The Immaculate Conception Church is one of the famous and historical tourist attraction in the capital of Palawan, Puerto Princesa City. This church is very historic. It is one of the influences of the Spaniards built in 1800’s that still remains up to this day. Today, The Immaculate Conception Church has been known as the center of spiritual refuge for local and visitors of Puerto Princesa City. It is located along Rizal Avenue in Brgy Liwanag, across Plaza Cuartel.
The annual feast is held every end month of November, where devotees set a colourful parade featuring the patroness. Every Holy Week many tourist and devotees visit Puerto Princesa, Palawan to visit and pray for the famous Immaculate Conception Church. The easiest way to the cathedral is to take a jeepney or tricycle.
The architecture of this place is similar with the Ancient churches in the Philippines. It was built in 1961 when the Immaculate Conception of Mary was proclaimed the city patroness. Aside from the Architecture, people can find different religious edifice inside the church. This blue cathedral is unique architectural design, the arches reminds you of the Gothic castles ad building built in Medieval in Europe. The popularity of the church also lies on the countless blessings and miracles granted by the town patroness. Every Sunday morning, lots of joyful locals reciting their prayers and offering flowers to religious icons in the church.
